The House
Our House accomodates 36 families and is located on the CHEO campus, just 167 steps door to door from the hospital. We are a 10 minute drive from downtown Ottawa.
Our Family Rooms
We operate two Family Rooms within CHEO, one attached to the PICU, and the second on the 5th floor available to the public.
Our Programs
We offer pet therapy through Ottawa Therapy Dogs, we provide warm volunteer-cooked meals weekly, and offer events and programs from the community each month.
The House opened its doors to sick children and their families in June of 1984 and is part of a network of 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada. Our House is owned and governed by National Capital Children’s Oncology Care Inc., a charitable organization. Its Board of Directors consists of 15 volunteer members from business, medical and the surrounding community.
Making room for everyone. For all the travelling families with seriously ill children who need a place to stay while their children are in hospital.
We are dedicated to providing a warm, safe, affordable and compassionate environment for families of seriously ill children.
